We believe in high quality joinery from high quality timbers.
A high quality product will always outlast that of a less well made one giving you longer to enjoy and appreciate it. Moreover it will have used less of the valuable resources in its lifetime, compared to products that need to be replaced frequently.
We believe the best thing we can do for the environment is to make things that last as long as possible.
Some small changes can make a big difference.
Transport
We have invested in our fleet and all our vans have a Euro 6 engine that is the cleanest form of that type of transport available to use today. As technology progresses we would look to move to all electric vehicles.
Timber
Instead of importing timber sourced from the far flung corners of the world, we have move as much as possible to manufacture using Scottish Douglas Fir. The trees that are turned into kiln dried batons are felled and processed within a 50 mile radius of our workshop.
Heating & Lighting
We have recently upgraded our workshop lighting to use lower energy lighting but still giving daylight bulb performance. Our workshop is 100% heated by our waste sawdust and offcuts. This provides zero carbon heating for free.
Paint
Unless otherwise requested our paints are all water based and release no harmful VOC’s into the atmosphere. We also have moved to water based thinners for cleaning.
