Darnley was the first project we delivered for Highland Fuels. Their existing filling station was busy but running out of space, and they wanted more room to trade, a proper hot food offer and a forecourt that worked better for customers.
We built an extension onto the existing shop to create extra retail space, then refurbished the store and facilities throughout — adding an accessible WC and a commercial-grade kitchen for the hot food counter. To the rear, we installed a shipping container for additional storage, and clad the existing building, the extension and the container in matching insulated panels so the whole premises reads as one clean, modern unit.
Out on the forecourt, we created more customer and accessible parking, laid new kerbing and edging, repaired the concrete and tarmac, upgraded the drainage, fitted new forecourt lighting and secured the site with new fencing.
Throughout the build, the station stayed open. We phased the works so only limited services were affected at any one time, keeping the business trading while the site was transformed around it.
