After Darnley, Highland Fuels brought us back for a bigger job at their Fairlie filling station. The building had grown tired and cramped, and they wanted more shop space, a new kitchen, and a site that looked and performed better all round.
We built two extensions, one on each side of the building — enlarging the shop floor and creating room for a new kitchen — and tied a new roof into the existing structure, then retiled the whole building, old and new together, so it read as one. Inside, we renovated the original building throughout. The entire premises was then wrapped in insulated cladding, covering the old, tired facade and making the building far more energy efficient.
On the forecourt, we removed the old car wash and built a new one, complete with sumps and drainage, and ran new ducting for the forecourt appliances. We also installed new shopfront glazing and night-pay windows, improving both security and the way the shop looks from the forecourt.
The result is a larger, brighter, more efficient filling station and the second in a growing run of projects delivered for Highland Fuels.
