The Carrick 1.4miles
The Carrick on Loch Lomond is the 71-par course designed by the acclaimed golf course designer Doug Carrick, this stunning course uses every inch of the dramatic landscape straddling the fault lines between the Scottish lowlands and highlands with nine holes set in each. Located a stones throw away from Cameron House.
The Wee Demon
Nine holes, that's all it is you tell yourself. But it's so much more than that. "Wee Demon" by name, "Wee Demon" by nature. You slalom the course, avoiding the deviously placed sand traps and water hazards. Hole by hole the "Demon" tests you to the full. Even the par threes are tricky. Then you hit the par five. Magnificent and wickedly clever. You long for the undulating vastness of the Carrick, but feel strangely intrigued to continue with this enigma of a course. 'I thought I was a single handicapper', you question as the "Demon" confounds you all the way back to the clubhouse.
Helensburgh Golf Club 5.4 miles
Nestling on the shore of the great river Clyde, Helensburgh is only 23 miles north west of Glasgow. With excellent train and road links Helensburgh is easily accessible.
Vale of Leven Golf Club 4.6 miles
Vale of Leven Golf Club was founded in 1907. Situated in Alexandria, close to Loch Lomond, it boasts a beautiful 18-hole course with stunning views over the loch and surrounding mountains, including Ben Lomond itself.
Cardross Golf Club 9.2 miles
Generous undulating fairways and large deciduous trees are features of the golf course and it tends to play much longer than the yardage suggests. Less than 6 miles from the world renowned Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, with stunning views over the river Clyde and only 20 minutes from Glasgow Airport, makes Cardross not only easily accessible but a must on any golfing holiday. The nearby town of Balloch hosts something for every pallette, whether you fancy fish and chips, Chinese, Italian, Indian or traditional fayre.
Don't tell the kids, but you will even find a McDonalds.
