What we do
Building Services
At GMM we have extensive experience of building services projects and our dedicated engineering team have delivered projects focused on utility upgrades, and complex mechanical and electrical upgrades.
In addition, our engineering team has developed outstanding process engineering skills where we have designed fully developed manufacturing processes including commissioning of new vessels, structures and process pipework which can be fully automated. Working with steam boilers and other utility upgrades we have delivered on complex mechanical and electrical challenges to improve production processes.
One of our key projects has been to design and retrofit a chemical manufacturing plant from conceptualization to technical designs.
According to The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE):
In any new construction project, building services typically account for 30-40% of the total cost.' (Ref. CIBSE fact sheet) and buildings account for almost 50% of carbon emissions (Ref. CIBSE).
As a consequence, many aspects of building services design are regulated (the building regulations, the energy related products regulations, and so on), and clients may impose their own standards on top of these regulations or seek certification under schemes such the Building Research Establishment’s (BRE) Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM).
