I don’t get any benefits, can I still apply?
Yes. You do not have to be receiving benefits to be eligible. However, if we receive more applications than we can fund, we will prioritise applicants on a low income.
What can I apply for?
Grants of up to £1,000 are available for things that will make life a little brighter. Grants may be used flexibly and can contribute towards things like:
• Holidays or short breaks
• Days out
• Travel costs
• Clubs, hobbies or activities
• Sports, play or leisure equipment
• Digital devices, software or subscriptions
• Assistive technology
• Aids & adaptations recommended by physios / OTs but not available via central budgets
Is there anything I cannot apply for?
• School or tuition fees
• Medical treatment, equipment or medicines
• Financial hardship e.g. living expenses, rent, utility bills etc
• Retrospective applications.
The application must be for a future payment. We cannot award grants for expenses already incurred.
How long does the application take?
We have tried to keep the application straightforward. If you have all the information to hand, it should take around [X] minutes.
What happens once I’ve submitted my application?
Once applications have closed, the Trustees will consider all applications.
If you have been successful, a grant will be offered subject to certain checks.
If you have been unsuccessful, we will let you know.
Most of the time, we can make a decision based on what you’ve told us in the application. If we need a bit more information, we may contact you.
If we ask for more information to support your application, please respond as soon as possible. Your application will be closed if we don’t receive the information within 14 days of our original request.

I have received a grant from trust before, can I apply again?
You may apply again; however, please note that the funding is limited, and priority will be given to people who have not received a grant from the Trust before.

The Trustees of The Larsen Trust 2020 (and Cairn Trust Management Ltd as administrators of the trust) collect information provided by, or on behalf of, applicants on the application form and any supporting documentation provided. This information is used solely to ascertain whether applicants qualify for financial assistance within the remit of the Trust. With regard to personal information, we will only ask for information that is necessary and not excessive or irrelevant.
We use Amiqus Resolutions as our Electronic ID and Verification Platform. All information transmitted during document checking is end-to-end encrypted, keeping your data secure.
Personal information will be held for only as long as is necessary in accordance with statutory data protection and financial guidelines.
Any person can ask to have access to the information that is held about them or about anyone for whom they are legally responsible. Requests should be made in writing to the Trustees and these will be dealt with to comply with the requirements of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR.)
